I compile my work from images I find meaningful and that I have collected and manipulated over the years in different ways. I have edited the pictures and patterns along the way into printing screens I work with. The works develop into their own stories combining images in the processes of printing, drawing and painting. The work also always advises the author. I consider it my task to study and interpret life, man and the achievements of humanity accumulated in the layers of culture. In my works I strive for a poetic picture. I use serigraphy, gouache painting and drawing techniques on paper in my work.

Juha Laurikainen is an artist and designer. Studied textile art and design in the University of Industrial Arts in Helsinki and experimental sculpture in École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre in Brussels, under the guidance of TAPTA (Maria Wierusz-Kowalski) ja Tony Cragg.
