“The theme of the exhibition is the event of skin changing – the moment when the old, rigid essence breaks and something new, vibrant and potentially surprising emerges.

In the works, biological skin formation and shedding are compared to various moments of crisis and growth in life. Sometimes change simmers beneath the surface until it erupts at a critical moment, leaving only an empty shell of what was before. New things sprout from wrinkled old skins. In a crisis, the world seems barren, but a turnaround, natural renewal and development can follow.

The sculptures are made mainly of aluminum and stainless steel. The exhibition also includes a photographic work, which is a kind of starting image for the exhibition. A photo I took years ago of a hatching dragonfly serves as a visual and conceptual metaphor for the theme of the entire exhibition.”
